In-Ear-Review: Moto Buds 600 ANC

As the companies main Apple product user, sorry Andrew, it was a fun change for me to try out a non-Apple product. I’ve been using my AirPod Pros basically since they came out and usually compare anything to them. Previously I have used many different headphone products in my life from multiple different companies. Do these stand up to the test compared to my AirPods? Lets dig in and find out!

First Impression

The first thing I noticed as soon as opening the box was that they are a very calming purple color. The case and the headphones themselves are the same color. I am personally a big fan of purple colors so this was a nice surprise for me. The case itself was very lightweight but not cheap feeling. I liked that the lid’s opacity allowed you to see inside enough to see lights and that your headphones were inside. The other nice thing about the case and its color is it won’t show dirt as easily and there appears to be more room to clean everything off. I also was informed the case is waterproof, I did not test this but I do believe them.

Setup

Thankfully the competing companies didn’t make this a whole ordeal. The headphones paired without any issue. Simply opened bluetooth setting, clicked the Moto Buds and boom, connected. The headphone case didn’t need to be open or anything which is nice. The downside that I have noticed is that my phone likes to stay connected to the headphones even while they are in the case. This was rather annoying as I had to disconnect BT to be able to hear anything when I wasn’t using them. I feel like this could be fixed with some kind of update hopefully.

Sound

I chose an eclectic playlist to test out multiple different genres and styles with the headphones. I do have to say, selfless plug here, Bluey’s Dance Mode album really hit the spot for my morning Peloton ride. The headphones fit extremely well into my ears, the soft tips provided an excellent seal and really solidified the noise cancellation. I would easily rate the noise cancellation 9/10. The headphones give a very crisp and clear sound quality as well. The bass and treble are very well matched and don’t overwhelm one another. The sound was excellent with all the genres that I had listened to that day as well.

Battery

The second most important thing when it comes to wireless headphones is the battery life. The company boasted approximately 26 hours of battery life. I honestly think this is a very accurate number. I used them periodically through the day for about a week for testing and did not have to charge them until the end of the week. The nice part of the charging is that it is a USB C cable which most of my devices also use. Charging did not take very long at all either. Minimal downtime between having to charge and being able to get back on the road with my headphones.

Overall

Being a generally Apple user I generally don’t have this chance to actually look at something else. I am thankful I was able to because it definitely was an amazing experience. The headphones are very comfortable and lightweight, the fit is super comfortable and easy to wear for multiple hours or a quick use. The case is small enough to fit in a pocket and not bother you while moving or doing anything. The sound quality is comparable to Apple or Bose headphones. Genres ranging from Hip Hop, to Country and everything in between sound of highest quality. Whether you’re in the market as Apple or Android this headphones will beat all of your expectations and for the price of $149 it is very affordable to last you for many years to come.
