British Heritage Reborn: ECD Auto Design Delivers Groovy LS3 Range Rover Classic
ECD Auto Design (ECD), the world’s largest Land Rover restoration company known for its custom luxury builds, including bespoke Defenders, Range Rovers and E-Types, today delivers Project Oliver Plaid – powered by a mighty LS3 engine. Dripping old-school charisma, the 1990s Range Rover Classic meshes funky 1970s aesthetics with modern day power for a stellar upscale driving experience.
“When a client returns to us for a second build, we’re thrilled to work with them to bring their wildest fantasy to life – especially when they know everything we’re capable of. Project Oliver Plaid pays homage to all the great 20th century Range Rover Classics before it – with the modern twist ECD specializes in,” said Scott Wallace, CEO and co-founder of ECD.
Like a vintage magazine come to life, Project Oliver Plaid features a glossy Bentley Alpine Green Metallic exterior color to make the ground-up restored vehicle look right out of the 1970s. Staying true to its British heritage, the LS3 Range Rover Classic also has a grille, bumpers and a safari-style roof rack from that era, repurposed for modern-day roads – both pavement and dirt. Gleaming silver accents bring an effortlessly groovy touch to the custom build, with polished 16-inch wheels and door handles tying the offroader together.
Inside, the off-the-hook older Range Rover Classic lives up to its unique project name with green plaid seat inserts and tan leather – also color-matched to Bentley. The driver commands modern roads in style from the standard Land Rover seats with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and Dakota Digital gauges. Project Oliver Plaid’s spacious interior has space for five to go exploring, with custom olive green floor mats to match the green carpet. Playing the Led Zeppelin soundtrack during all-terrain adventures is a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB radio. Two USB ports, automatic headlights and Bluetooth capabilities round out the bespoke build’s tech upgrades.
