AAA: National Average Hits $3 for First Time Since 2021

Gas prices are eight cents lower in Western Pennsylvania this week at $3.300 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

Nationwide Trends:
As the holiday season begins, the national average has fallen to $3.00 per gallon for the first time since May of 2021. Prior to May of 2021, the last time the national average was $3.00 was October of 2014. Gas prices have been fairly stable over the last couple of months due to lower crude oil prices and sluggish demand. Today’s national average is three cents less than a month ago and five cents less than a year ago.

At the close of Wednesday’s formal trading session, West Texas Intermediate fell $.60 to settle at $58.65 a barrel.

The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station stayed the same this past week at 38 cents.
