Background: AION is a hugely popular MMO that has influenced an entire generation of gamers since its original release in 2008. AION Classic is its successful renaissance, giving players young and old the opportunity to (re)discover the legendary early version of the game. At the same time, AION Classic does more than just hark back to a simpler age but introduces its own unique version, which is under separate development.

Here’s a quick overview of the new instances in update 2.0:

New PvE Instances:

The new PvE instances are designed for players from level 51 and, with the exception of Taloc’s Hollow, should be entered in groups of 2 to 6 players.

  • Beshmundir Temple
  • Udas Temple
  • Lower Udas Temple
  • Esoterrace
  • Taloc’s Hollow
  • Upper Abyss instances

New PvP Instances:

The PvP instances can be played once per day. Some are for individual duels, others are laid out for 6v6 engagements for characters from level 51.

  • Chantra Dredgion
  • Tiarkh Testing Lab
  • Empyrean Crucible

The Road Ahead: Hot on the heels of the update 2.0 content, Gameforge, and developer NCSoft are already working hard on updates 2.4 and 2.5 to bring even more improvements to AION Classic. These are slated for release in autumn and winter, and, as with previous updates, community feedback will play a big part. Gameforge and NCSoft plan to open up more popular instances to players this autumn, including the Liberated Beshmundir Temple, Abyssal Splinter, and the Arena of Glory. In winter, these will be joined by Solus Eris, Deathly Chamber, Crucible Challenge, and Padmarashka’s Cave.
