Walk-In Orthopaedic Clinic Opens at AHN Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion

The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Orthopedic Institute announced today it has opened an Orthopaedic Express Care Clinic at the AHN Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion in Pine Township. The clinic provides walk-in care for common orthopaedic injuries such as sprains, strains and fractures, as well as concussion evaluations. The after-hours clinic is offered to patients of all ages Monday-Friday from 5-7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8-11 a.m.

“When you or a loved one suffers an orthopaedic injury, a trip to the emergency department or an urgent care center can result in longer wait times, unanswered questions and follow-up visits,” said Patrick DeMeo, MD, chair, AHN Orthopaedic Institute. “Our Orthopaedic Express Care program conveniently provides patients with the care they need, when they need it so that they can more promptly start with a treatment plan and ultimately recover more quickly.”

Staffed by orthopaedic specialists from the AHN Orthopaedic Institute, the clinic’s care team is supported by on-site diagnostic imaging for rapid diagnoses. Patients requiring elevated levels of care also have seamless access to the comprehensive services available at the adjacent AHN Wexford Hospital, including its full-service emergency department and advanced imaging capabilities.

Pediatric patients and their families also have nearby access to the AHN Pediatric Orthopaedic Institute, which is located across from the hospital along Perry Highway.

“For those living north of Pittsburgh and beyond, the AHN Wexford campus uniquely meets all of a patients’ health needs in one place. We are pleased to expand our Express Care services to include  care for orthopaedic injuries provided by one of the region’s and country’s top orthopedic and sports medicine teams,” said Allan Klapper, MD, president, AHN Wexford Hospital.

For other non-urgent health issues, such as coughs/colds, sore throats, rashes, pink eye and more, walk-in Express Care at the AHN Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion is open Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.

The Pavilion offers a wide array of outpatient health services, including primary care, and multiple medical and surgical specialties. It hosts comprehensive centers for cancer treatment and women’s health, and includes an ambulatory surgery center, breast center, advanced imaging/laboratory testing and an onsite pharmacy. To learn more about urgent and express care services at AHN, visit www.ahn.org/urgent-care.
