In-Hand-Review: Extended Controller Grips Compatible with Quest 2

Some of the most fun I have playing video games has been on my Oculus Quest 2 VR. Going forward in this review I will just refer to it as VR to save time and letters. With the VR you get transported into an immersive world that is unlike our own. You tend to forget that you are standing or sitting here on Earth. Sometimes you also forget that the controllers can leave your hands and go flying across the room. Thankfully there are safety straps built in to help with this issue. However, Kiwi Design has created an extended controller grip that gives you a great feeling, better safety and a nicer look that really stands out. Today I am reviewing will be reviewing one of their many options of controller covers.

Color Options

The Extended Controller Grips come in a variety of wonderful colors. They offer these covers in a full aray of colors including:

Brilliant Black

Lovely Purple

Pretty Pink

Revealing Red

Beautiful Blue

Wonderful White

They unfortunately did not name the controller colors by those names but they definitely should. I was given a set of black controllers to review. The hides imperfections from wear and tear well, it looks great with the white controller peaking through and it matches the decor of my home very well.

Features

The controller covers have a load of features and qualities unmatched by competitors. The covers are built to be more ergonomic and help folks with larger hands like myself. Kiwi built their product to be longer and thicker. This has helped me quite a bit when my hands get sweaty from rocking out on Beat Saber or taking out enemies on Pistol Whip. The larger grips also give more control with movements and grip. This helps to not let it loose or have it slip out of your hand while playing for a while. The comfort of the grips is also improved quite a bit with the padding they have added in.

The hand strap is also an incredible feature that I didn’t know I needed. Again Kiwi took time to figure out the most comfortable way for you to be able to play your games for extended periods of time. The hand strap allows you to loosen your grip slightly and not fear. It is also packed with memory foam to give you comfort and control. The adjuster for the hand strap is also fantastic. With a push button design Kiwi makes it substantially easier to adjust to different hand and wrist types. They make sure that you have no problem fitting it to your hand.

One of my favorite features is the battery replacement cover. Kiwi decided to create a simple slot that folds open to allow you to replace your batteries without having to take the entire cover off. They also added a little pull tab to go under the batteries and make it easier to remove them. By far one of the greatest features with these covers. I’ve always hated having to try to get the batteries out to change and this has made it completely fool proof and simple.

Protection

The padding and material does an excellent job of protecting your controllers from sweat, crumbs, dust and anything else that could damage it over time. The grips are thick enough as well that if you accidentally drop them they would provide some protection as well. I wouldn’t recommend throwing them through your TV for fun but if you did, I’m sure they would be protected still.

Summary

If you are an avid VR player or even if it is just for leisure, having these controller grips is a must. The padding that surrounds them is thick and comfortable which gives you a secure grip and a better feeling in your hands. The strap for the back of your hand gives you protection from throwing, a comfortable feeling and is easily adjustable to fit any sized hand. The battery cover compartment is by far the best. The simple method of changing batteries has been perfected by Kiwi with this design. The color options can fit any life style or decor and gives you so many options to choose from without sacrificing quality. Retail price is $46.99 but currently, as of this articles posting, the grips are on sale for only $32.99. You can find these and all of their products HERE.
