The Kickstarter campaign for Cohors Cthulhu, Modiphius Entertainment‘s latest transmedia property set in a Lovecraftian version of Ancient Rome, is wrapping up in just five days. The initial goal of $61,000 USD was achieved more than three times over, raising more than $200,000 USD, unlocking nearly all of its initial stretch goals along the way. The Cohors Cthulhu 2d20 RPG, including the Player’s Guide, Gamemaster’s Guide, Germania Adventures, Larium Adventures, and more, is planned to launch into retail in the first half of 2024.

Set in the same timeline as Achtung! Cthulhu, Cohors Cthulhu expands the ongoing Against The Gods Themselves universe in development from Modiphius Entertainment. In this upcoming RPG setting, players take the role of the Roman Empire’s greatest heroes as they join forces with allies and enemies alike to confront the Eldritch horrors that threaten their very existence.
Backers of the Cohors Cthulhu Kickstarter campaign can enjoy several levels of pledge rewards (each pledge includes the rewards of the pledges before it), including:
- Auxiliary: The RPG Player’s Guide and Gamemaster’s Guide In PDF
- Scout: All the RPG PDFs you could need, including additional adventure books and a GM screen
- Legionary: A total of 6 3D print STL miniatures, with options for allies and enemies alike
- Centurion: The Player’s Guide and Gamemasters Guide in wonderful printed forms
- Prefect: Every single book available, from guides to adventure books, in printed form
- Legate: The pledge level for the ultimate fan, with collectors edition versions of the Player’s and Gamemaster’s guide, printed versions of the adventures, all 3 sets of physical miniatures, along with other accessories such as dice and tokens.
These materials transport players into a nightmarish alternate history, where the fate of reality itself rests on their shoulders. Ancient ruins, cultist hideouts, and strange winding forests must be braved to find the secrets of this world and accrue the power to rival even the Old Gods.
