We are back again with ANOTHER amazing product from Skillmatics. If you have followed this journey so far you will be pleased to know that this is another that doesn’t disappoint. If you haven’t bought anything from Skillmatics yet, then now is the time! Today we are going to review the Piece And Play puzzle set featuring everyone’s favorite “big trucks”!
Design
Giant puzzles and games are where it’s at with Skillmatics. This is a quite large 3 feet by 2 feet floor puzzle which probably appears so much bigger to our little ones. The extra large pieces are super strong and easy to handle with little and big fingers alike. Together there are 48 puzzle pieces that click together in a quite colorful and simple way for the kids. The pictures are all vibrant and easy to identify.
The display on the puzzle is a massive construction site that I would guess isn’t OSHA compliant. Not that it matters because child labor laws won’t stop your kids from building this puzzle to completion. The picture displays so many pieces of equipment and machinery. All of which will eventually be identifiable by your child with the 2 game options available with this puzzle.
You have two wonderful choices to play games built into the puzzle. The box comes with 30 double sided cards that identify specific items from the puzzle. One side shows a picture of the equipment for example the excavator, the bulldozer, the cement mixer and your child gets to point to it on the puzzle set. This helps build multiple skills for your child. Not only can they name the machinery, they can point out colors, what it does, and maybe even what sound it makes.
The second option for game time is the other side of the card. Instead of pictures of the equipment it gives you a brief description to read off to your child and help them determine what it is describing. This is a little more made for the older kids who can comprehend the words better. It is an extremely exciting game though to see them light up when you tell them good job and you did it!
The best part of Skillmatics is the multiple benefits it brings to your household. You child gets a new toy to play with, you gain an activity to do together, you both get to learn and grow as a family, and your child gains valuable skills and knowledge. I have tried a few of their products and I hope to continue to do this as everything I have been able to use with my son has been amazing. The Piece and Play puzzle set is just another of the wide array of items available.
