Carrera unveils “Carrera Hybrid” at CES – The Latest Innovation in Slot Car Racing

At CES 2024, Carrera is unveiling their brand new slot car racing innovation – Carrera Hybrid. Carrera Hybrid offers the perfect combination of gaming and racing fun as the vehicles are not tied to their own lane. They can, however, race freely across the track and switch lanes. AI support enables an extremely realistic driving experience and makes racing more fun than ever!

Two “hellishly good” sets will be available from Q4 2024: “Devil Drivers” and “Speedway to Hell.” Each set contains two cars in different cool colors. The “Devil Drivers” set contains the fiery red “Red Devil” and the pitch-black “Black Devil,” while the “Speedway to Hell” set includes the poison green “Greeno” and the neon yellow “Grello”. Also included are four high-speed straights, 10 nerve-wracking bends and a start/end straight. These track segments can be freely combined to make every race exciting and unique. Rechargeable batteries are built into the cars and USB-charging cables are also included so players can start racing right away.

The vehicles are controlled with a free smartphone app for iOS and Android. Once in the app, steering is done intuitively by tilting the mobile phone and buttons on the display represent the accelerator and brake. The design of the app is based on the cockpit of real racing cars to offer a realistic and natural driving experience. Both racing sets feature two modes of play – beginner mode offering every racing fan an easy to play introduction to the world of Carrera Hybrid, while the expert mode delivers a real challenge even for experienced racing professionals.
