Celebrate National Board Game Day with Some of Arcane Wonders’ Impressive Catalog

Here is a small selection of titles from Arcane Wonders’ vast catalog!

About Furnace

Furnace is an engine-building Eurogame in which players take on the roles of 19th-century capitalists building their industrial corporations and aspiring to make as much money as they can by purchasing companies, extracting resources, and processing them in the best combinations possible.

Designed to be deep enough to play during a game night with friends but light enough that teenage kids are willing to jump in, Furnace is an engine-builder that fits nicely into any board game collection.

About Air Land and Sea: Critters at War

As Supreme Commander of your country’s military forces in Air, Land & Sea, players must carefully deploy their forces across three theaters of war: air, land, and sea. At the start of each battle, they’re dealt a hand of six cards. Players take turns playing cards one at a time until all cards have been played — or one player decides to withdraw. The order in which they play their cards is critical, as is whether they’re played face up or face down.

The formula remains the same in Critters at War, but the presentation is revamped: the two-player tactical title gets a fresh coat of paint with the addition of fun, warmongering animals. So gather the troops and face off in the air, land, and sea!

About Picture Perfect

Released originally as Der Perfekte MomentPicture Perfect tasks would-be photographers with arranging fourteen characters to take the perfect photograph. However, each character has three specific desires that will need to be fulfilled, all hidden in envelopes.

Players will need to do their best to please everyone, even if they don’t know all the characters’ preferences. Whoever fulfills the most desires at the end of the game will earn the most points and become the master photographer!

About Onitama

Carved into the crags of the mist-shrouded mountains of ancient Japan lies the Shrine of Onitama. Onitama is an elegant two-player abstract game in a beautiful magnetic box that would make a perfect gift for the chess fan in your life.

Use the two cards in front of you to make a move with one of your pieces, then swap that card with the one on the sideboard. Your opponent then does the same thing, swapping their card with yours from the sideboard. In this way, every card will move between both players throughout the game. The game offers endless replayability since only five of the 16 movement cards will be randomly selected for each game.

Capture your opponent’s master pawn, or move your master onto your opponent’s starting space to win!

About Aquatica

Aquatica is a deep, but easy-to-learn family engine builder about underwater kingdoms. In the game players will become one of the mighty ocean kings, struggling to bring glory to his realm.

To win the game, players need to capture and buy locations, recruit new characters, and complete goals; each action gives victory points totaled at the end of the game. Players will need to use cards from their hand (each with a unique set of actions) and combine them. Don’t think it’s simple! With a good strategy during your turn, players can take up to ten actions in a row!
