Destiny 2: The Final Shape Launches Worldwide

Today, Bungie has globally launched Destiny 2: The Final Shape on all platforms. The concluding chapter of Destiny’s decade-long “Light & Darkness Saga”, The Final Shape finds Guardians confronting oblivion as they face down their ultimate adversary in the Witness and end the War of Light and Darkness.

In The Final Shape, Guardians will engage in an epic battle to spoil the Witness’s twisted designs for the fate of the universe. Along the way, they will enter the fabled Traveler and explore a brand-new destination, The Pale Heart. While pursuing the Witness through The Pale Heart, Guardians will rally their Vanguard allies to their side and confront enemies both new and familiar.

To succeed in their fight against their ultimate foe, Guardians will have access to never-before-seen powers with the release of The Final Shape. First and foremost is the Prismatic subclass. Forged of both Light and Darkness energies, Prismatic empowers players to combine Arc, Solar, Void, Stasis, and Strand into a custom subclass of their own design. By dealing enough Light and Darkness damage, players can become Transcendent, which will give them access to new grenades that deal both Light and Darkness damage, weapon damage bonuses, and more.

Prismatic is designed to give players more buildcrafting options, with more fragment types and slots than other subclasses. Combined with the new Exotic class items that arrive with The Final Shape – one for each class – players will find more options for expressing their true power as a Guardian than ever before.

Following the launch of Destiny 2: The Final Shape and Guardians’ confrontation with the Witness, Bungie will launch the first Episode, Echoes, on June 11. In this first of three standalone Episodes launching over the year of The Final Shape, Guardians will embark on a new adventure in the aftermath of the confrontation with the Witness. Full of new stories, new activities, and new rewards, Echoes will unfold over three Acts from June 11 until early October.

New Raid and World First Race Coming June 7

Shortly after the launch of The Final Shape, Bungie will unlock its latest raid, Salvation’s Edge. Destiny raids are pinnacle aspirational activities designed for six skilled Guardians* determined to test their skills, teamwork, and ability to solve the toughest challenges available in the game. Salvation’s Edge will launch for all The Final Shape players on June 7 at 10 AM Pacific (17:00 UTC).

With the launch of the Salvation’s Edge raid, Bungie will also kick off its competition to crown the first fireteam in the world to complete the raid. The confirmed winning fireteam will receive one-of-a-kind World First title belts for each fireteam member along with the glory of being awarded the World First title. Look for the official announcement of the winning World First team in the days following the launch of the raid.
