Atari Launches Centipede Blast Card Game Kickstarter
Atari is inviting its most engaged fans to get in early on the release of Centipede Blast, a new party card game that will ship in December. Centipede Blast was developed in collaboration with members of the Atari Club as part of the company’s Club Made initiative. Fans can order the new game through a Kickstarter campaign which opens today.
Centipede Blast is a fast-paced snap card game that captures the essence of arcade excitement, blending familiar mechanics with fun twists. Adrenaline-inducing elements include the dynamic ‘blast card’ which ramps up the action with an unexpected blast, and the ‘mushroom’ card which strategically shifts the flow of play, mimicking the role of mushrooms in the arcade game. Perfect for quick, engaging rounds, players will delight in outmaneuvering opponents through quick thinking and strategic card play, ensuring a fresh and exciting experience every time.

“The Kickstarter goal for Centipede Blast is quite modest. We are using the platform primarily for its community engagement tools, which pair well with the collaborative manner in which we designed the game,” said Tyler Drewitz, Director of Atari X. “Fans have the option to get a basic or special edition version of the game, and follow along as we move quickly from production to shipping.”
The Club Made initiative is a vehicle for community engagement, gathering valuable insights, and fostering a sense of ownership and pride among Club members. Since the launch of the Atari Club, Atari has held a series of progressively more ambitious community-driven projects, including the design of patches, apparel, high-score competitions, and most recently an eight-week long virtual Summer Camp.
