The Spell Brigade Breaks Steam Numbers With its All Time Peak!
While Steam players were busy playing other trending indie titles on Steam, a new indie contender has graduated from the school of magic. The Spell Brigade, by Bolt Blaster Games, has been able to break the concurrent player count on Steam! Not only that, but it also managed to double it by an all-time peak of 2,487 at that time.
Given how small of a studio Bolt Blaster Games is, it’s definitely admirable that it was able to offer engaging gameplay with a captivating art style featuring goofy, derpy, yet cute tiny wizards that will melt your heart with the way they walk. But they will also melt your enemies with the wrath of their spells!
Despite the mere resources Bolt Blaster Games has, its ambition played a huge role in developing and shaping The Spell Brigade into its current state.
“We had high hopes for our release, but this has truly surpassed anything we could have imagined. We’re incredibly grateful to our amazing community for making this all possible.” – Hans Jacobs, Game Director at Bolt Blaster Games.
The Spell Brigade now has a very positive score on Steam and a lot of positive feedback from the players. Offering a great online co-op gameplay experience of 1 – 4 players. United to slay down foes with various different spells, tackle challenges, and complete map objectives. The Spell Brigade has been receiving a lot of updates to keep the community engaged while offering new spells, quality-of-life changes, and other fixes to the game.

About Bolt Blaster Games
Bolt Blaster Games is a six-person indie game studio from Belgium, founded in 2020. In 2023, they released their first game, a cartoony roguelite shooter in VR called GAZZLERS. It’s a crazy little game in which you fight off hordes of – you guessed it – Gazzlers, with a gun you build yourself from combined parts and upgrades you get after each wave, all in a colorful, cartoony style.
Working on GAZZLERS post-launch really showed the Bolt Blaster team the value of community feedback and engagement, which is something they want to improve on while working on their second title. Still a young studio with the ambition to make great, fun games, they are eager to grow as game developers, one game at a time.
