WonderWorks Orlando: A Year in Review of Out-Of-This-World STEM Programs and a Look at the Year Ahead

WonderWorks Orlando is celebrating their year of STEM contributions for 2024 and looking ahead to the many great things they have planned for 2025. The famous upside-down house had a fantastic year regarding its STEM/STEAM programs, which are essential in inspiring the next generation of scientists and leaders throughout the community. Their contributions over the last year and all that is planned for the new year outline their commitment and dedication to making learning a fun and memorable experience for all.

“What a year! The team and I are very proud looking back on all the amazing programs we offered our guests in 2024,” said Brian Wayne, general manager at WonderWorks Orlando. “Hopefully, the upside-down house sparked a love of learning and adventure within your family!”

Some of the accomplishments they completed in 2024 include:

  • Kicking off the year with an annual WonderKids video call, featuring a special presentation from Dr. Don Thomas, a former NASA astronaut, where local students who were recognized for their academic achievements had the unique opportunity to ask their burning questions about all things space.
  • The 2024 – 2025 WonderKids program launched in the fall, introducing three new nomination categories: Math Marvel, Model Citizen, and Creative Genious. This program allows local teachers to nominate students who shine in each of these areas. It inspires students to work hard and rewards the efforts of those doing so.
  • WonderWorks celebrated National STEM Day on November 8 by hosting a special day of science experiments. This gave guests an opportunity to get up close and personal with STEM, providing a memorable learning opportunity. Additionally, they introduced a new demonstration that explored the fascinating concept of ocean currents.
  • Launched several new programs in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. These include hosting successful fundraisers for the Florida Beast Cancer Foundation, hosting a community art project, and more.
  • During National Library Week in April, WonderWorks partnered with the Orange County Library System to promote the wonders of reading. Through this returning partnership, they hosted a book drive and awarded people with free tickets for signing up for a library card during the special week.
  • WonderWorks updated exhibits to keep guests intrigued and enhance their experience. They updated their Word Up exhibit by adding a new interactive word scramble, sharing a new set of words that have been added to the dictionary, and providing information on how words are formed. They also installed a large new LED screen in the Space Zone, where they will live stream the rocket launches from the nearby Space Coast and beyond.

“We are honored to be a trusted provider of educational fun in the Central Florida community, so we’ve got some exciting things on the radar for the year ahead. Plan your next visit real soon!” said Davianys Ramos, education sales manager at WonderWorks Orlando.

Looking ahead to a fun-filled 2025, WonderWorks Orlando will continue to be a leading provider of educational fun in the Orlando area all year long.
