Exploding Kittens Unveils New Games for Summer 2025, Including First-Ever Board Game

Exploding Kittens, a leading gaming and entertainment company, today announced the launch of five new tabletop games: Exploding Kittens: The Board Game, What Were You Thinking?, Giants Moving Tiny Furniture, and Exploding Pigeon, as well as the newest title in the Kitten Games collection, Monster Match.

“Looking back at the last decade, it’s wild to see how we’ve grown from Kickstarter to a library of over 60 games,” said Elan Lee, Co-Creator and CEO of Exploding Kittens. “This upcoming slate of games are some of my favorites yet, including our first-ever board game. It’s everything fans love about our original card game, but now the board itself physically transforms as you play. This is easily one of my favorite games we’ve ever made because it takes us back to where we started but with an entirely new way to play.

Exploding Kittens: The Board Game – in stores late June 2025 for UK/EU and July 21, 2025 for US

To celebrate the company’s 10th anniversary, Exploding Kittens re-imagined a new way to play the original game with the same recognizable look and feel – Exploding Kittens: The Board Game. The game lets players race to the end of the track, using strategic action cards to sabotage opponents or escape disaster. The real innovation lies in the board itself—players can trigger a board flip from ‘calm mode’ to ‘chaos mode,’ transforming every space on the board to set traps, sabotage the other players, or form temporary alliances. The game is highly competitive, easy to play, and includes Exploding Kittens’ signature irreverent humor.

Best for players ages 7 and up, Exploding Kittens: The Board Game can be enjoyed by two to six players and takes about 20 minutes to play. It will be available online and at mass retailers for $24.99 in late June 2025 for UK/EU and July 21 in the US.

Giants Moving Tiny Furniture – in stores July 21, 2025

Giants Moving Tiny Furniture is a fast-paced, highly competitive team game about steady hands and tiny furniture. In this game, players act as giants working for rival moving companies tasked with moving an adorable collection of miniature furniture using only their pinkies. In each round, a job card describes which miniature furniture must be moved, leading to a frantic battle with other players to see who can complete the job the fastest. It’s a battle of steady hands, teamwork, and just the right amount of sabotage.

Giants Moving Tiny Furniture can be enjoyed by three to eight players and takes about 10 minutes to play. The game will be sold exclusively at Target for $19.99 beginning July 21.

Exploding Pigeon – in stores July 21, 2025

Exploding Pigeon is a fast, frantic, and completely unpredictable Hot Potato and charades challenge game where quick thinking is the only way to survive. During the game, players start the timer and shake the Pigeon to reveal a challenge to get their team to guess a secret word, which could be acting something out, saying a word, or performing a ridiculous stunt. The added challenge to the game is that teams must guess the word correctly before the player can pass along the pigeon. If a player is holding the pigeon when time runs out, the pigeon explodes into a loud, chaotic scream—and the player loses the round. Fast and full of tension, this game is perfect for anyone who enjoys high-stakes, high-speed competition.

Best for players ages 7 and up, Exploding Pigeon takes 10 minutes to play and requires three or more players. It will be sold exclusively at Target for $19.99 starting July 21.

Monster Match – in stores July 21, 2025

The newest edition to Exploding Kittens’ Kitten Gamescollection for players ages 4 and up, Monster Match is a simple picture-matching game where players roll two dice—one with numbers, one with body parts—and then race to find the monster card on the table that matches the combo. With two game modes, one for younger kids and one for older kids, it’s the perfect game to start with preschoolers and advance with them while they grow, as it teaches them pattern recognition and quick thinking.

Monster Match can be enjoyed by two to six players and takes about 5 minutes to play. The game will be available at $14.99 starting July 21.

What Were You Thinking? – in stores July 30, 2025

What Were You Thinking? is a word-guessing game for terrible mind readers, making it the ultimate party game for players to test how well they know their friends. During the game, players take turns giving one- or two-word clues to help their team guess a secret word, but the clue must start with a letter that can be found on the game’s letter grid. This added challenge makes players think fast and get creative without making the clues too obvious for their opponents to guess first. With quick rounds and endless word combinations, What Were You Thinking? is a brand new twist on word-guessing games.

Best for players ages 10 and up, What Were You Thinking? offers 15 minutes of gameplay for three or more players and will be available at Walmart and Amazon, and internationally for $19.99 beginning July 30.
