GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD 50s AND 60s DOUBLE TROUBLE AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE ON GIBSON.COM

As it celebrates over 130 years of music history, Gibson, the iconic global instrument brand, is proud to announce the new, limited edition Gibson Les Paul™ Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble guitars have all the highly-coveted features from our Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s models, but with two notable differences: Their gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes are slightly faded when compared to the standard versions, and the uncovered Burstbucker™ pickups feature Double Classic White bobbins. Production of the Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble models is highly limited to only 500 guitars in Vintage Cherry Sunburst and Vintage Tobacco Burst Finish. The Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble guitars are available worldwide at authorized Gibson dealers, at the Gibson Garage flagship stores in Nashville and London, and online at www.gibson.com. “The Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble guitars are a fun limited run with some really important history behind it, celebrating humbucker bobbin colors seen only in 1959 and 1960 which have become part of the lore of Les Paul Standard models as well as the legend of our humbuckers themselves.” –Mat Koehler, Vice President of Product at Gibson There’s something about a Gibson Les Paul Standard with uncovered pickups that means business. The gloves are off, and it’s time to rock ’n’ roll. Now, for the first time, Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble models bring uncovered Burstbucker pickups with Double Classic White bobbins, handcrafted in the Gibson Pickup Shop, to the table alongside stunning full-gloss Vintage Cherry Sunburst and Vintage Tobacco Burst nitrocellulose lacquer finishes that simulate several years of subtle fading. Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble A classic 50s-style Les Paul Standard, now with even more vintage appeal The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble delivers all of the features and performance of our regular Les Paul Standard 50s models but with even more vintage appeal. These limited-run Les Paul models differ from our standard Les Paul Standard 50s models in two respects. First, the Burstbucker 1 and Burstbucker 2 pickups are left uncovered, and each has Double Classic White bobbins and is fitted with the standard Alnico 2 magnets. The second difference is in the finish. The finish colors are “Vintage” variations on our standard nitrocellulose lacquer finishes. Our standard gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes represent the finishes on brand-new models from the 1950s, while the full-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer Vintage finishes on the Les Paul Standard Double Trouble models are slightly faded when compared to the standard versions, like the subtly faded light vintage aging that occurs over several years. The burst patterns vary somewhat from guitar to guitar since each is individually hand-sprayed. All of the standard features that make the Les Paul Standard 50s models so widely loved are all still here, including a solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body with an AA figured maple top and a rounded 50s Vintage-style mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and trapezoid inlays. The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble is equipped with an ABR-1, the classic-style Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, and aged gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers. The uncovered, calibrated Burstbucker 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups are internally the same as their standard Burstbucker counterparts, with the exception of the Double Classic White bobbins. They are handcrafted in the Gibson Pickup Shop, loaded with Alnico 2 magnets, and hand-wired with audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop® capacitors. The Double Classic White pickup bobbins and Vintage finishes combine to give the Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble an elegant vintage vibe. While they have a vintage-style finish and an accessible price, the availability is limited to only 500 guitars in each color, meaning there’s limited availability, so act fast and get your favorite now while you still can. |
