Developer Windup Games and publisher Knights Peak are excited to announce that their upcoming game, Hela, along with Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree — developed by Primal Game Studio and published by Knights Peak — will be showcased during the GDC 2025 ID@Xbox Press Event. This exclusive gathering highlights a carefully curated selection of indie titles, with both games chosen from thousands of submissions, making them standout features at this year’s presentation.
Hela is a third-person adventure set in the beautiful northern Scandinavian nature and tells the enchanting story of a witch and her familiars — agile mice with magical abilities. For ages, the friendly witch has used her magic to help the local folk, but now she has fallen ill and needs help herself. It’s up to the players to set out on a quest to find a cure for the ailing witch — in a game that combines exploration of magical landscapes, foraging, puzzles, action, and brewing.
Alongside Hela, the dark fantasy action-RPG Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree — developed by Primal Game Studio and published by Knights Peak — will also be featured. Blending a challenging action-RPG with soulslike and metroidvania elements, Mandragora invites players to wield the power of the Witch Lantern, navigate the twisted realm of Entropy, and battle nightmarish creatures while uncovering the mysteries of a world on the brink of ruin.
Journalists attending the GDC 2025 ID@Xbox Press Event will get an exclusive look at both Hela and Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree, diving into their immersive and captivating worlds. Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree will be released digitally for PC, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series S|X on April 17, 2025. More information about Hela will follow at a later point.
