After a long period of radio silence, Nordic Trolls, the developers behind Under a Rock are back — and they’ve been very busy. The team has been hard at work shaping the future of the game, and today they’re ready to share a first glimpse into the next milestones in development.

In the latest gameplay update video dropped recently by the indie studio, fans are treated to a sneak peek showcasing just a small slice of the building options available in Under a Rock. From structural creativity to survival strategy, this update offers a fresh look into the evolving player experience.

Set in a procedurally generated world shaped by an alternate evolutionary path, Under a Rock invites players to embark on a thrilling expedition filled with action, base building, creature taming, and survival. Whether diving in solo or in a group, up to 10 players adventurers will craft their way through a rich, hostile environment teeming with exotic dangers and discoveries.

Key Features of Under a Rock:

  • Expect the Unexpected: Featuring procedural world generation, no two playthroughs of Under a Rock will be the same. A once-safe base could be riddled with danger the second time around, and players must stay on their toes to keep up.
     
  • Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover: They may seem cute and cuddly, but some of these creatures sure pack a punch. Fight, tame, breed, and ride various creatures…or utilize them develop cooking skills. Buffs from nourishment and other potential benefits will aid in efforts to survive various biomes, curses, diseases, and the forces of nature. 
     
  • It Builds Character: Players can create their own unique looks with the in-game character creator, offering a variety of diverse customization options
     
  • A Not So Desert(ed) Island: Explore this mysterious island together with co-op multiplayer support for up to 10 players 

Under a Rock is in development for Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It is available to wishlist now via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
