Gameforge has kicked off the year by sharing a comprehensive Developer Round-up for Under a Rock, its upcoming survival-adventure title currently in development.
The update by the Nordic Trolls development team offers an in-depth look at the progress made throughout 2025, highlighting how the team has been laying the groundwork for the game’s core experience. Development over the past year has focused on building and refining interconnected systems, including procedural world generation, exploration-driven progression, base building, research mechanics, combat, animation, and environmental hazards.
Among the notable additions are expanded cave and underwater environments, a fully implemented blueprint system for base construction, early cataloging and research features that turn exploration into long-term progression, and continued improvements to combat responsiveness and visual clarity. Many of these elements are showcased in a newly released developer video, offering a clear snapshot of how the different gameplay pillars are beginning to come together.
With over 450,000 wishlists across digital storefronts, Under a Rock continues to build strong anticipation ahead of its release, marking this update as an important milestone in the game’s development journey.
