Manage your own plushie ship in Toymaker: Threads of Joy, announcing its participation in the Backed by Backers Festival

Toymaker: Threads of Joy, the cozy game about crafting and selling plushies in the city of Salamanca from 1910 developed by Uprising Studios, announced its participation in the prestigious Backed by Backers Steam festival, dedicated to games that have been successfully funded through crowdfunding. Its campaign, which is still active and 3 days away from ending, has been 240% funded, going well over its initial funding goal.
The game, a simulator in which you craft plushies and manage the store where you sell them, is set in a magical version of the city of Salamanca in the early 20th century, and will allow players to explore very well known locations from the city. In addition to that, its story and characters as well as the accessories for the plushies are full of references to local culture.

An example of these are the lock-shaped plushies, which pay homage to the locks that couples in love leave at the well in Calixto and Melibea’s garden, a very emblematic corner of the city. There are also plushies with the shape of a shell that reference the famous Casa de las Conchas from the city, or the moss outfits for plushies that are a nod to the local celebration of the moss men, where people parade through the city dressed in similar attires.
With 72 hours left in the campaign, the studio is focusing its efforts in achieving new goals on the campaign, especially the one that will allow them to launch the game on Nintendo Switch. For those interested, the campaign offers many physical rewards like sewing kits and adorable plushies, as well as the possibility of being a part of the game’s story by designing characters, including their pets as a plushie or a customized message.
