New WORX Nitro 20 Volt Brushless Jigsaw Brings Long-lasting DIY Power to Holiday Giving
The new WORX® Nitro 20V Brushless Jigsaw makes one of the most versatile portable power tools in a DIY toolbox even more productive with a high-efficiency, brushless motor. This go-to jigsaw is a great holiday gift that will be appreciated for years – and many DIY projects – to come.
Not only does the cordless jigsaw cut woods of varying thicknesses and densities, but also accepts blades for cutting PVC pipe, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, aluminum, copper, and thin steel. The saw’s tool-free blade clamp makes it easy to swap out standard T-shank blades from most brands, which are widely available at hardware stores and home centers.
The jigsaw is driven by a Nitro brushless motor that runs 50 percent longer, provides 25 percent more power and is maintenance-free, compared to traditional brushed motors. This digitally controlled, brushless motor operates cooler with less friction and heat buildup than conventional motors with brushes, resulting in smooth, reliable performance and extended tool life.
The brushless motor is powered by a 20V 2.5 Ah MAX lithium Power Share battery. Remaining runtime can be quickly checked by pressing the charge level indicator on the battery. Power Share batteries are compatible with more than 75 WORX 20V, 40V and 80V lawn and garden, DIY and lifestyle products for cost savings and convenience.
The variable-speed jigsaw has a no-load speed of 0-3500 strokes-per-minute (spm) with a blade stroke length of 1 in. The saw’s cutting depth is 4-23/32 in. in wood, 25/64 in. in steel and 2 in. in PVC. The jigsaw’s trigger-activated LED light helps illuminate the cutting area.
The Nitro jigsaw includes a four-position, orbital action control lever. Increasing the level of orbital blade action creates a faster, more aggressive cut. Generally, high orbital action (setting 3) should be used for cutting soft materials and less orbital action (settings 1 and 2) is required for harder materials. No orbital action (0) is preferred for finer cutting in thin work pieces and metal.
Preparing to make bevel cuts from 0 to 45°, left or right, is quick and easy, using the saw’s tool-free bevel base adjustment lever. The sturdy base plate provides a large contact surface area for stability and control. The jigsaw also is capable of making plunge cuts without having to drill a hole.
The user-friendly jigsaw weighs only 5.2 lbs.(with 2.5Ah battery) and is highly maneuverable. The operator can twist and turn the saw to cut curves and other shapes without being impeded by an awkward power cord. The ergonomically designed saw has a comfort-grip handle with GripZone micro-texture overmold for maximum control and reduced user fatigue.
Included with the WORX Nitro 20V Brushless Jigsaw is a 20V 2.5Ah Power Share battery, 2-amp 2-hr. charger, one wood-cutting blade, vacuum adapter and carry bag. The saw is covered by the WORX three-year limited warranty.
