Addoptics: Changing the Landscape of the Optics Industry
The manufacturing of optics hasn’t changed in years and has reached its peak in innovativeness. This old-fashioned manufacturing method is the cause for long lead times and little to no design freedom. Change has finally come, Addoptics has developed a new manufacturing method that significantly speeds up the production of optics. In fact, Addoptics swears by a 10 times reduction of the average lead times, being able to deliver a custom optical component within six days.
Manufacturing as a Service
Addoptics manufactures optical components, as a service, for fast-paced development teams. Fast-paced development teams face tight deadlines, have short development cycles, and have to assemble their final product as soon as possible. Addoptics matches the fast development of these teams and is able to seamlessly scale with the demand of the client. Addoptics’ value proposition is to increase its clients’ efficiency and make them more successful. Clients communicate their digital (CAD) designs to Addoptics’ engineering team. After receiving the digital design, the Addoptics engineers make sure that the orders are delivered as soon as possible.
Product
Addoptics provides rapid prototyping and series production. The company offers its clients the flexibility of digital manufacturing without compromising on quality. Delivering transparent, high-precision optical components, made in an optical grade material. These materials are capable of meeting the high standards required for an optical component, being both UV and heat-resistant. Addoptics has developed optics for automotives and consumer electronics such as smartphones, tablets, home appliances and AR/VR hardware.
Brand-New Manufacturing Process
Addoptics manufactures optics using 3D printing techniques, allowing for more design freedom than traditional techniques. 3D printing makes it possible to turn CAD designs into molds which are then turned into optical components in the casting process. This manufacturing process results in high precision, micron-accurate optical components.
