Select Hisense Smart TVs add Amazon Alexa for 2018

SUWANEE, Ga.Jan. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Hisense, a global technology leader, today announced that Alexa capabilities will be available on select models of Hisense 4K Smart TVs for the very first time. This is part of Hisense’s larger initiative to make interacting with Smart TVs easier and more intuitive than ever before. Alexa will be available on select models of the 2018 Hisense 4K Smart TV lineup, including the Hisense 100″ 4K Ultra HD Smart Laser TV, Hisense’s game-changing product that represents the future of premium large-screen home entertainment.

Hisense’s Smart TV platform makes accessing built-in apps like Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube, TikiLIVE and others simple and easy. In addition, Alexa-enabled Hisense 4K Smart TVs will now offer a wide variety of voice features right out of the box. Alexa will help users control certain primary functions, including voice commands, changing inputs and controlling volume.

Additionally, the Alexa voice service seamlessly connects to music services like iHeartRadio, Pandora, as well as thousands of Alexa skills. Skills allow Alexa-enabled Hisense 4K Smart TV users to do everything from shopping for groceries and gifts to even ordering a pizza. Alexa will also enable users to connect to other smart home products so that they can control the lights, turn off the air conditioner, operate other IoT devices that work with Alexa and more.

“We are thrilled to bring Alexa voice technology to our Smart TVs,” said Mark Viken, Hisense USA Vice President of Marketing. “While content providers and other TV manufacturers tend to focus on quantity of content, Hisense recognizes that the future is all about simplicity, making it easy for consumers to find and watch their favorite content, play music, control their smart home and more.”

The Alexa integration does not stop with Hisense Smart TVs. Hisense recently announced their HiSmart AC and Dehumidifier products which work with Amazon Alexa and qualify for the “Works with Alexa” badge.

“We’re excited that Hisense is bringing Alexa to televisions,” said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President, Amazon Alexa. “Hisense has a history of building Alexa integrations for smart home products.  Now, with Alexa on select Hisense Smart TVs, they’re bringing Alexa directly to customers’ living rooms. This means customers can do things like turn the volume up, control their smart home, get a movie recommendation or even order dinner on select models – with just their voice.”

In addition to Alexa, Hisense has made significant investments in new technology, particularly as it relates to voice activation and control. In 2018, the company will also be launching a remote control and mobile application, both featuring voice technology.

Hisense will be debuting its full 2018 lineup at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las VegasJanuary 9-12, 2018 at booth #10039. For more information, visit https://www.hisense-usa.com.
