Legrand and Superior Essex to Demonstrate Intelligent Building Infrastructure at BICSI Winter 2018
NEW LONDON, Conn., Feb. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Legrand, North & Central America, alongside cabling partner Superior Essex, will demonstrate on-going support for the implementation of Intelligent Building standards at the BICSI Winter Conference 2018, February 4-8, Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL. The recently published ANSI/BICSI 007-2017 standard, Information Communication Technology Design and Implementation Practices for Intelligent Buildings and Premises, has established new guidelines and recommendations around the design and implementation of structured cabling systems as well as addressing unique application requirements for Intelligent Buildings.
Legrand’s Carol Oliver, chair of the Intelligent Building subcommittee, says: “With the combined telecommunications’ history of both Legrand and Superior Essex, we were excited to have been a part of this subcommittee aimed at providing our industry with a design and installation guide focusing on the fast-growing technology and applications that are defining this new era of intelligent buildings.”
Having intimate knowledge of the new standard, Legrand and Superior Essex are sharing that knowledge and new solutions with attendees of the 2018 BICSI Winter Conference. Visitors to booth #819 will be able to explore new intelligent building applications that are leveraging Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), one of the power and data delivery methods focused on in the ANSI/BICSI 007 standard and inquire with Carol and other industry experts on best practices.
“The partnership between Superior Essex and Legrand has allowed both companies to build solutions that complement each other and exceed industry standards,” said Brian Ensign, Vice President – Strategic Account Solutions for Superior Essex. “With PowerWise® cable from Superior Essex and Clarity® High Density Jacks (HDJ) and patch cords from Legrand, we are ensuring that customers are realizing the best performance in PoE applications while providing improved efficiencies throughout,” continued Ensign.
Legrand and Superior Essex will provide additional guidance for end users, architects, contractors, integrators, and designers during a webinar on February 22nd at 1PM EST. The session will help attendees gain a better understanding of how cabling and connectivity infrastructure affects the overall performance of intelligent buildings, and how ROI can be achieved when implementing an intelligent building.
