MERCILESS MOVEMENT SHOOTER SPRAWL UNLEASHES GRAVITY-DEFYING ACROBATIC ASSASSINATIONS ON PC THIS AUGUST

Rogue Games, the only publisher made entirely of 90’s anime fans, and the ruthless but rational minds at developer MAETH have announced that brutal retro movement shooter SPRAWL will launch this August on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. As former special operations super soldier SEVEN, attempt to escape an endless cyberpunk megalopolis ruled by a corrupt totalitarian military junta. Using your icarus cybernetic implant, defy gravity by running on walls and slow down time with the blood of dismembered government operatives. Listen to FATHER’s voice inside your head to survive… or ignore him and face a wretched fate.
Inspired by anime classics like Akira and Ghost in the Shell, in addition to real-world phenomena like Kowloon Walled City, SPRAWL takes place in a cyberpunk walled megalopolis known as a breeding ground for illegal activity on the outskirts of the region. After being labeled a scapegoat for the massacre of civilians during a military operation gone wrong, protagonist SEVEN lives in squalor, scarred and dishonored in a dilapidated apartment.

SEVEN may have been framed or set up, but she still pulled the trigger. For that reason alone, she awaits death as atonement for her sins.
Suddenly, a mysterious entity named FATHER informs SEVEN that the ruling junta has begun eradicating “anomalous entities” from the walled city – and she’s on its hit list. FATHER directs SEVEN to destroy the SPIRE, the towering needle protruding from the city’s center that serves as the seat of the oppressive military government. SEVEN outfits herself with the deadliest arsenal she can get her hands on, and makes her way to dismantle the regime and discover the horrifying technologies that lie within.

“I have faith in your capability for… brutality,” says FATHER, the mysterious voice inside SEVEN’s head. “You are truly a hallmark of your kind.”
Murder without remorse in a high-speed game of combat chess. Sever the heads of the authority with katanas, drill bullet holes into flesh with handguns, and ricochet in and out of fire with shotguns. Use your cybernetic implants for slow motion superiority while changing the momentum of your movements mid-air. Pick up valuable rewards like ammo, health boosts, and bullet time adrenal meter refills from enemy corpses for your efforts. Think fast and adapt to survive before the SPRAWL consumes every fiber of your being.

Sync your kills to a dynamic, pulse-pounding industrial music system that responds to a wide array of player actions such as level progression, scripted events, and, of course, vicious homicide. SPRAWL‘s original soundtrack is composed by developer MAETH’s Carlos Lizarraga, a music industry veteran credited for work on massive pop hits, niche indie labels, and creative direction on projects at Warner, Interscope, Sony and more. MAETH’s other half, Hannah Crawford, is a Gameplay Programmer at AAA studio Firesprite and has worked on some of gaming’s most popular modern franchises, like Sea of Thieves and Horizon: Call of the Mountain.

SPRAWL will be available this August on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. For more information, please visit the game’s Steam page, follow it on Twitter, subscribe on YouTube, and join the official Discord community.
