GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD 50s AND 60s DOUBLE TROUBLE LIMITED EDITION, AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE ON GIBSON.COM

As it celebrates over 130 years of music history, Gibson, the iconic global instrument brand, is proud to announce the new, limited edition Gibson Les Paul™ Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble guitars have all the highly-coveted features from our Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s models, but with two notable differences: Their gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes are slightly faded when compared to the standard versions, and the uncovered Burstbucker™ pickups feature Double Classic White bobbins. Production of the Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble models is highly limited and now available worldwide in two new finishes, Vintage Honey Burst and Vintage Bourbon Burst, joining the previously announced Vintage Cherry Sunburst and Vintage Tobacco Burst. Each Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble color is limited to only 500 guitars; find them at authorized Gibson dealers, at the Gibson Garage stores in Nashville and London, and online at www.gibson.com. Explore the new Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble finishes HERE, and HERE. There’s something about a Gibson Les Paul Standard with uncovered pickups that means business. The gloves are off, and it’s time to rock ’n’ roll. Now, the Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s Double Trouble models bring the rarely offered uncovered Burstbucker pickups with Double Classic White bobbins, handcrafted in the Gibson Pickup Shop, to the table alongside stunning full-gloss Vintage Cherry Sunburst and Vintage Tobacco Burst, and the newly announced Vintage Honey Burst and Vintage Bourbon Burst nitrocellulose lacquer finishes that simulate several years of subtle fading.

Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble in Vintage Bourbon Burst. A classic 50s-style Les Paul Standard, now with even more vintage appeal The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble offers everything players love about the classic Les Paul Standard 50s, with a few distinctive touches that enhance its vintage charm. This special edition stands apart in two key ways. First, it features exposed Burstbucker 1 and Burstbucker 2 pickups, each showcasing Double Classic White bobbins and equipped with traditional Alnico 2 magnets. Second, the finish has been given a unique twist. While our standard nitrocellulose gloss finishes replicate the look of a freshly minted 1950s guitar, the Double Trouble models sport full-gloss nitro finishes in subtly aged “Vintage” hues. These finishes are designed to evoke the gentle fading that occurs over time, giving each guitar a naturally worn-in aesthetic. Adding to their individuality, the burst patterns are hand-sprayed, ensuring no two instruments are exactly alike. All the hallmark features that have made the Les Paul Standard 50s a fan favorite remain intact in the Double Trouble edition. It boasts a solid mahogany body with no weight relief, topped with an AA-grade figured maple cap. The neck is carved in a rounded 50s Vintage profile from mahogany and paired with a rosewood fingerboard featuring 22 medium jumbo frets and classic trapezoid inlays. Hardware includes the vintage-style ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, and aged gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers. The exposed Burstbucker 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups retain the same internal specs as their standard counterparts but are distinguished by their Double Classic White bobbins. Handcrafted in the Gibson Pickup Shop, they’re loaded with Alnico 2 magnets and wired with audio taper pots and Orange Drop® capacitors. Together, the unique pickup look and subtly aged Vintage finishes give the Double Trouble a refined, old-school aesthetic. Though priced accessibly, availability is capped at just 500 units per color, making each one a rare find.

A classic 60s-style Les Paul Standard in Vintage Cherry Sunburst and Vintage Bourbon Burst. The Les Paul Standard 60s Double Trouble brings all the beloved features and performance of the original Les Paul Standard 60s, with added vintage flair. This limited-edition model stands out in two notable ways. First, the Burstbucker 61R and 61T humbuckers are left uncovered, showcasing Double Classic White bobbins and powered by Alnico 5 magnets for that signature tone. Second, the finish has been reimagined. While our standard nitrocellulose gloss finishes reflect the pristine look of a brand-new 1950s instrument, the Double Trouble models feature full-gloss nitro finishes in “Vintage” shades—subtly faded to mimic the gentle aging that occurs over time. Each guitar’s burst pattern is hand-sprayed, giving every piece a unique visual character. All the core elements that make the Les Paul Standard 60s a standout are fully preserved in the Double Trouble edition. It features a solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body topped with AA-grade figured maple, and a SlimTaper™ mahogany neck paired with a rosewood fingerboard, complete with 22 medium jumbo frets and classic trapezoid inlays. The guitar is outfitted with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with Kidney buttons, and gold Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors and dial pointers. The exposed Burstbucker 61R (neck) and 61T (bridge) pickups match the internal specs of their standard counterparts but are visually distinguished by Double Classic White bobbins. Built in the Gibson Pickup Shop, they’re loaded with Alnico 5 magnets and wired by hand using audio taper pots and Orange Drop capacitors. The combination of the unique pickup styling and aged Vintage finishes gives the Double Trouble a refined, retro-inspired look. Though priced to be accessible, production is limited to just 500 units per color—so availability won’t last long.
