AAA: Slight Increase at the Pump in PA

Gas prices are seven cents higher in Western Pennsylvania this week at $3.377 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
Nationwide Trends:
Gas prices have seen a slight increase as November continues. The national average for a gallon of regular went up nearly 5 cents since last week to $3.07. Refinery maintenance in California is part of the reason for the increase: when refineries pause production, gas prices in the area temporarily go up. Still, the national average is lower than it was this time last year, and gas prices should remain on a quiet path as we get closer to Thanksgiving.
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand decreased from 8.92 million barrels per day last week to 8.87 million. Total domestic gasoline supply decreased from 210.7 million barrels to 206 million. Gasoline production increased last week, averaging 9.8 million barrels per day.
At the close of Wednesday’s formal trading session, West Texas Intermediate fell 96 cents to settle at $59.60 a barrel. The EIA reports crude oil inventories increased by 5.2 million barrels from the previous week. At 421.2 million barrels, U.S. crude oil inventories are about 4% below the five-year average for this time of year.
The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station went down by 1 cent this past week to 37 cents.
