The story behind Retro Sumus
Creating new games for old consoles! Retro Sumus is a small development team located in Spain. We are professionals in different fields who got together in 2013 to revisit genres and concepts we felt were underused, or not explored in depth back in their time.
Because, really, why not?
Our previous game, Xenocider for Dreamcast, launched in january 2021. Conceived as a love letter for classics like Space Harrier and Sin & Punishment, it was an ambitious project that brought the first new 3D game to the console in over 15 years.
Our team members have also been involved in other indie projects like Pier Solar, Ghost Blade, and the Dreamcast releases of Flashback and Fade to Black. Juanjo Martín (keyboardist and musical director for Morat) and Sebastián Abreu (Legend of the Four Winds, The Curse of Illmoore Bay, Eyra the Crow Maiden) contribute their musical talent to the creation of Sovietborgs!
