Hoverfly Technologies Supports Executive Orders to Unleash American Drone Dominance and Prioritize American UAS Technology

Hoverfly Technologies, the industry leader in American-made tethered drone solutions, proudly announces its strong support for President Trump’s landmark executive orders: “Unleashing American Drone Dominance”. The orders aim to reassert U.S. leadership in the drone industry by streamlining procurement, accelerating technological development, and ensuring security in American-made unmanned systems.

The series of executive orders includes the expansion and utilization of the Defense Innovation Unit’s (DIU) Blue List—a vetted directory of secure, NDAA-compliant drone manufacturers approved for rapid acquisition by U.S. government agencies. Federal departments are directed to prioritize procurement based on this list to avoid foreign-made systems with potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and ensure federal drone fleets are built with secure, domestically produced technologies that meet the highest standards of operational efficiency. Hoverfly Technologies is currently the only tethered drone manufacturer included on the Blue UAS list, underscoring its leadership in secure, mission-ready aerial solutions.

“These executive orders recognize the critical need for trusted, American-made drone systems and provide a direct pathway for federal agencies to rapidly procure our technology,” said Steve Walters, CEO of Hoverfly Technologies. “The federal government now has a clear mandate and a clear supplier when it comes to tethered UAS. We’re in a unique position to support this national directive immediately and effectively.”

Additionally, the executive orders’ emphasis on expanding Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations and streamlining regulatory processes is expected to further enhance the operational scope of UAS technologies. Hoverfly, having already acquired FAA Waivers for BVLOS and Multi-system operations, will continue contributing to these advancements, leveraging its expertise to support the safe and efficient integration of drones across the evolving needs of defense, public safety, and commercial sectors.

As a company at the forefront of drone innovation, Hoverfly has consistently demonstrated its commitment to advancing American UAS capabilities. With over 600 systems sold to the U.S. Army, Hoverfly tethered drones already play a pivotal role in modern military operations—elevating communication networks, providing persistent intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and extending counter-UAS (cUAS) radar technology to enhance detect and defeat solutions.

Hoverfly’s newest capability, NEXUS—Network Extension of Unmanned Systems, will further expedite and optimize the use of unmanned systems on the battlefield. Recently showcased at the 2025 ToughStump Rodeo, NEXUS enables the control of robotic systems—including free flyers, quadrupedal ground vehicles (QGVs), and loitering munitions—with augmented reach and reliability, keeping the operator in a covered and concealed position while extending range and increasing lethality.

As the U.S. government doubles down on sovereign drone capabilities, Hoverfly Technologies stands ready with scaled manufacturing, R&D, and support to meet growing federal and allied demand. Hoverfly has been and will continue to deliver the executive orders’ vision of American drone supremacy.
