The TranzIt PORT is based on technology similar to other TranzIt kits from iSimple – including a universal in-line stereo signal modulator – but this new version includes several upgrades that allow it to connect today’s most popular digital devices to a car stereo. The TranzIt PORT boasts a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for digital-only audio devices (ex: the latest Android devices, as well as iPod, iPhone and iPad); support for microUSB, 30-pin and Lightning connected devices, and 2.4 -amp charging with overcharge protection circuits.
While the TranzIt PORT can be installed in about half hour by an experienced do-it-yourselfer, iSimple recommends professional installation for best performance. Once installed, it is extremely straightforward to use: first, the consumer plugs the connecting cable into the dashboard-mounted USB port or plugs in the USB memory stick; next they tune the radio to a pre-set “TranzIt frequency,” and finally they simply press play on their music player of choice, or starts-up an Internet radio service like iHeartRadio or Pandora.
