WESTONE INTRODUCES TRU CUSTOM AND UNIVERSAL HEARING PROTECTION EARPIECES AT NAMM 2014

Colorado Springs, CO and Anaheim, CA (NAMM) – January 24, 2014 – Westone, the leader in high performance audio and in-ear monitoring technology, will launch their TRU™ Custom and Universal hearing protection earpieces at the 2014 NAMM Show. TRU Universals and Customs are the newest product offering from Westone in the music and hearing health categories, utilizing advanced acoustic filter technology. These compact, low profile and interchangeable filters offer advanced hearing protection that is comfortable and critical to musicians as well as to fans listening to live music at concerts and nightclubs. TRU earpieces are also ideal for sporting events, air travel, movies and other recreational activities that have noise levels that can cause discomfort or permanent hearing damage if protection is not worn. TRU will be available for purchase in early-February.

TRU Customs TRU Customs have four filters and offer attenuation ranging from 14 dB to 24 dB allowing the user to “protect and select the bass and mid effect”. Each custom earpiece designed and assembled at Westone’s Colorado Springs laboratory, is precisely fitted to the user’s ear canal providing maximum comfort and incredible clarity. TRU Customs are available in 17 vibrant colors.

  • TRU10 – NRR 2, Avg. Attenuation 14 dB
  • TRU16 – NRR 10, Avg. Attenuation 18 dB
  • TRU20 – NRR 13, Avg. Attenuation 21 dB
  • TRU25 – NRR 15, Avg. Attenuation 24 dB

 

Westone’s TRU Universals provide an off-the-shelf solution with three filter options in varying decibel ranges. Like their custom counterparts, TRU Universals are critically tuned to reduce volume yet maintain sound quality across the sound frequency spectrum. The result is a comfortable and tuned listening experience for professional musicians, serious music lovers and anyone who requires recreational hearing protection. TRU20 Universal earpieces are offered in blue, smoke and pink. TRU16 and TRU25 Universal earpieces are available in smoke.

TRU Universal earpieces for musicians (TRU16 and TRU25, MSRP $89.99) have attenuation response curves that are flatter than TRU20 for concertgoers for the discriminating musician. The “Club Plug” (TRU20) MSRP is $29.99. The TRU16 and TRU25 Universals may be upgraded to custom earpieces for an additional fee.
