Exetech was founded in 2012 with the goal of designing, building and marketing a “stand alone” Smart Watch- Phone based on the Android operating system.

The first Smart Watch-Phone by Exetech, the “XS -3”, was officially presented at the SMAU exhibition in Milan in October 2013, and soon after, at the WEB-SUMMIT in Dublin (where EXETECH has been selected among the most innovative startups worldwide). The XS-3 is on the market since December 2013. The first production batch has been delivered in just one week!

XS-4: THE NEW CHALLENGE by EXETECH

In the ICT market there is never the possibility to rest, and so, since January 2014, Exetech is already working upon the new model, the “XS-4”, that will come out in 2014.

The “XS-4” will be an evolution of the XS-3 characterized by a smoother design and by a great deal of amazing new technical solutions. The aim of EXETECH, with no doubts, is to create, with the XS-4, a device with the potential to become a new landmark in the growing market of the Smart Watches.

XS-4 HIGHLIGHTS

Design – by Synthesis Design
Compared with the XS-3, the XS-4 is a result of an evolution process aimed to obtain smoother surfaces without changing too much the initial “concept”. The touch screen surface will become slightly curved, and the cover of the touch screen will be made in a single “glass looking” piece. Furthermore, the XS-4 will be WATER PROOF IP 67 certified.

IP67 “waterproof” through nanocoating technology

For making the XS-3 IP67 waterproof we will adopt the nanocoating technology. The internal and external surfaces of the device and of the battery will be coated by an ultrathin fluoroplymer coating, so water and aother liquids will be repelled. Exetech is the first manufacturer of Smart Watches introducing this solution.

Operating System and Software

The XS-4 will boast Android 4.4. When it comes to the Operating System, the evolution process in EXETECH is a continuous challenge: the owners of the XS-3 will take advantage of the new releases, and, in the same way, the future owner of the XS-4 will be enabled to upgrade to the new versions. The research carried on by the EXETECH engineers is aimed to improve the ergonomy of the navigation system, to reduce the battery consumption and to introduce new features and new design in the screenshots. The XS-4 will surely be equipped with the brand new choice of built-in “Exetech Chronographs”. The software will include vocal commands.

Battery

XS-4 will be equipped with an addictional 800 mah spare battery. The target is to obtain 48 hours of standby time and at least 15 hours with intense use of GPS and data connection.

Solar charging system

XS-4 will be equipped with a technology that will transforms the screen into a solar panel that can generate its own electricity. The solar cells act as light receptors and transforms that light into electricity. This technology will help to recharge the battery and will improve the standby time.

The touch screen of the XS-4 will be covered by a layer of solar cells especially designed for the SmartWatch application.

FUNDRAISING AIM

The aim of the fundraising will be to finance the manufacturing of the new dies that are necessary to produce the XS-4. Furthermore, the fundraising will help to produce the first batch of XS-4. We can warrant the delivery of the XS-4 within November 2014.
