JACKSONVILLE, Fla.Nov. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — (https://www.milowifi.com/) Milo WiFi, makers of the world’s most affordable and easy to use distributed wifi system, has officially launched its namesake product, Milo™. The official launch comes after a successful beta phase and soft launch of the product. Milo is currently shipping to customers around the country and is available as a two pack (MSRP: $129) and as a three pack (MSRP $189) on Milo’s online store and Amazon.

As the Internet of Things (IoT) market continues to expand, with 24 billion IoT devices projected to be installed by 2020, consumers require more wifi access than ever before. It’s no longer about just streaming to one device but rather demanding a strong signal for a multitude of devices – from smartphones, laptops and tablets to thermostats, security systems, appliances, speakers and more – at the same time. Despite massive technological progress, router signals still struggle to spread evenly to every nook and cranny in large and small homes alike. While other distributed wifi systems have emerged to address this fundamental problem, they are expensive and contain a host of unnecessary features from what is actually needed. Milo was designed to provide a better option.

Milo’s intuitive network springs wireless signals wherever it’s needed, whenever it’s needed – from homes, apartments, small offices and more. Working in synchrony, Milo’s two pack can cover up to an additional 2,000 square feet for the average home or small business, while a three pack can cover up to 4,000 additional square feet or solve for multiple dead spots.

Milo features the easiest and fastest setup among distributed wifi systems on the market. Customers are guided through set up via the mobile app and on-device lights to provide immediate feedback to signal the completion of each step. Once set up, Milo provides a dynamic network optimized to cover all of one’s devices in every room. This is made possible by two primary technologies – BaseLink and SmartSeek.

With BaseLink, Milo communicates wirelessly with users’ routers and since it’s not tethered to an ethernet cord, the device can be placed on the farthest edge of a network, allowing it to push the signal as far as possible. Meanwhile, Milo’s SmartSeek technology optimizes network paths by delegating signal communication across multiple radios in each Milo device. If Milo detects that a frequency band or channel is occupied, it will choose the next best route without interrupting any existing communication. Ultimately, this allows Milo to distribute the signal with minimal degradation between units, so users can stream movies, play games and surf the web as if they were connected directly to their router from the outermost corners of their home.

“Our mission in designing Milo was to address the three key needs of wifi consumers together in one single offering: performance, affordability, and ease of use,” stated ParkerVision (Milo’s parent company) CEO Jeffrey Parker. “Milo is the culmination of our vision to engineer a quality product that is affordable for the average household and solely focuses on fixing limited wifi range. Our research indicates that over one-third of wifi home users have been searching for a reasonably priced product to either fix existing wifi coverage problems or extend coverage to areas they cannot currently reach. At price points of $129 and $189 depending on desired coverage, we believe Milo is the right solution for any space.”
