SUNNYVALE, Calif.Oct. 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Kaleidescape, the leader in luxury home cinema experience, today introduced the Kaleidescape Mobile App, which provides customers an innovative user interface for selecting and purchasing movies, and controlling the playback of feature films, concerts, and TV shows on their Kaleidescape system. The app includes an innovative remote that makes it fun and easy to control the onscreen display using a smartphone, without taking your eyes off the big screen. The app also provides customers with timely information from Kaleidescape, such as movie recommendations.

“Kaleidescape is known for its beautiful onscreen user interface. However, to use it, many of our customers interact with 3rd party control tablets that make it impossible to use some of the best features of our onscreen user interface,” said Cheena Srinivasan, Kaleidescape founder and CEO. “Kaleidescape designed our new mobile app to solve this problem by providing a control interface that is as elegant as our onscreen interface. The mobile app’s design was also influenced by the lack of a practical way to visit our movie store and buy movies with a smartphone. The Kaleidescape mobile app will continue to play a central role as we evolve Kaleidescape’s user interface, making it more intuitive and more entertaining.”

“I’ve been a Kaleidescape customer for years, and it is how we watch movies at our home,” said Steve Musso. “When we’re with friends, we enjoy using the new Kaleidescape app to buy a movie that we’ll watch together. We are particularly impressed with the ability to find related titles. And, controlling playback with my iPhone is a dream.”

“My favorite thing about the Kaleidescape mobile app is how easy it is to buy a movie that is recommended by Kaleidescape,” said Michael Bell, a Kaleidescape customer. “Now, when I read a Kaleidescape film recommendation email on my iPhone, and tap ‘view details,’ it launches the Kaleidescape mobile app, and I simply tap Purchase.”

“We have installed dozens of Kaleidescape systems over the years,” said David Raife of Paragon Systems Integration, Aspen, Colorado. “Control systems, such as Crestron and Savant, play a vital role in luxury home cinema projects. Most of our projects use iPads for control. Kaleidescape’s mobile app makes it easier for us to install and support a Kaleidescape system because it eliminates the need for us to implement the Kaleidescape control interface. We can simply link the control app to the new Kaleidescape app, which works great on an iPad.”

The Kaleidescape Mobile App is available for download from the Apple Store. It is offered at no cost to Kaleidescape owners and users worldwide. Kaleidescape plans to release the Mobile App for Android phones in the future.
