Hifonics (Maxxsonics) is introducing a new specialist line with direct distribution to 12 volt retailers.

Typically sold through distributors, Hifonics will shift to a direct dealer model for a new ALPHA series of compact amplifiers to launch in February. The company has offered brands that were protected from the Internet in the past, such as the Brutus series, but this is the first to be backed by a concerted push to sell direct to dealers, said VP Global Sales & Marketing Ted Henricks.

To support retailers, the company is adding sales reps in select territories.

The ALPHA line centers around a new series of compact, high powered amplifiers that are 25 percent smaller than typical 1,000 watt Hifonics amplifiers.  Eight compact amplifiers will ship in February at street prices from $239 to $449.

The model ALPHA A3000.1D delivers 1,500 watts RMS and measures 2 x 5 x 12 inches.

The line also includes mono, 2-,4- and 5-channel Class D amplifiers. It will be supported with an ALPHA powered-subwoofer, and a series of subwoofers and speakers.

ALPHA will display during CES 2019 in Las Vegas at the Westgate hotel #360 East Tower.
