Subaru Canada Unveils Exclusive 2019 BRZ 雷雨 Raiu Edition at Montreal International Auto Show
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan. 17, 2019 /CNW/ – Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to announce the introduction of the 2019 BRZ 雷雨 Raiu Edition, which was unveiled today at the Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS).
Limited to just 100 units across the country, this Canadian-exclusive sports coupe joins a special edition WRX of the same name. Derived from the Japanese word for thunderstorm, the BRZ 雷雨 Raiu Edition name describes its characteristics and capabilities perfectly.
Powered by a 2.0-litre SUBARU BOXER four-cylinder engine, the BRZ 雷雨 Raiu Edition makes 205 horsepower and 156 lb.-ft. of torque and comes equipped exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission.
In addition to all the features that make the performance-tuned BRZ so much fun to drive, including its near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution and ultra-low centre of gravity, the 雷雨 Raiu Edition boasts several exclusive upgrades to enhance its appeal — and exclusivity. Based on the BRZ Sport-tech RS, this new special edition model stands apart with dynamic visual and performance enhancements, including STI-branded front lip, side sill and rear side spoilers, as well as an STI-branded short-throw shifter.
Rounding out the upgrades are black exterior accents and an exclusive Cool Grey Khaki exterior colour. That’s in addition to the Sport-tech RS trim’s existing features, black leather and Alcantara seats with red stitching, 17-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, SACHS performance dampers and performance Brembo brakes.
Priced at $33,795, the 2019 BRZ 雷雨 Raiu Edition is limited to just 100 units Canada-wide, and will soon be arriving at Subaru dealers across the country.
