Los Angeles, Calif. (11/04/219) – BYD (Build Your Dreams) will offer its expertise in zero emission transportation technology at the 12th Annual “Airports Going Green” Conference, November 3-6, 2019, in Chicago, Ill.

BYD, which is already working with three major airports on zero emission transportation, will have a booth at the conference, which is hosted by the American Association of Airport Executives and the City of Chicago Department of Aviation. John Hatch, BYD Regional Sales Manager, Southeast, will be on hand to answer questions.

“With their defined routes, airport shuttles are a natural next step for transportation electrification,” said BYD North America Vice President Patrick Duan. “BYD strongly supports the move of airport shuttle bus fleets to zero-emission technology and stands ready to do its part to make that transition a reality.”

Airports Going Green (AGG) is the aviation industry’s leading forum on sustainability. Since its inception, AGG has enjoyed international recognition from airports, airlines, industry associations, and government agencies.

Three airport projects across the country feature BYD’s zero emission buses:

  • Kansas City International Airport, which has four 30-foot BYD battery-electric K7s,
  • Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, which operates two 40-foot K9Ms,
  • And, BYD’s largest airport customer to date, Los Angeles World Airports, which ordered 20 of BYD’s 60-foot articulated

States and cities are adopting regulations and plans to help their airports go green. For example, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has adopted a sustainability plan with the goal of becoming the “world’s greenest airport.” In June, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) adopted the Innovative Zero-Emission Airport Shuttle Bus regulation (ASB), requiring all airport shuttles in the state to be zero emission by Dec. 31, 2035.

The AGG conference takes place at The Westin Chicago River North, 320 North Dearborn Street, Chicago, Ill.
