NASA Awards Environmental and Medical Services Contract
NASA has awarded a contract to HSG LLC of Las Vegas to provide the agency environmental management, environmental health, and medical services. As a multi-user spaceport for launches of government and commercial spaceflights, NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida and nearby Cape Canaveral Air Force Station have a recurring need for environmental and medical support services.
The NASA Environmental and Medical Services Contract (NEMCON) is a cost-plus-award-fee contract with an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity cost-plus-fixed fee component. The maximum potential value of the contract is $322.8 million.
The contract has a 30-day phase-in period that begins Tuesday, Sept. 1, followed by a two-year base period from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2022. Four, two-year option periods are available, which will bring the total potential period of performance to 10 years.
The NEMCON contract serves a critical role in supporting operational requirements by providing for the protection of the environment, the health and well-being of the workforce, and meeting federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
Work performed under the NEMCON contract will include support for environmental compliance, environmental health, and aerospace medicine at Kennedy, environmental support for NASA Headquarters and the agency, and Air Force occupational and environmental health support.
