Princeton Identity is announcing today the addition of a new temperature scanning module to its IOM Access200 biometric identity product family.

Working in conjunction with existing access control systems, a sequence of biometric access and temperature scanning can be used to protect building entry. Namely, for areas that want to perform adjunctive temperature screening of personnel, the temperature module can be added to the biometric readers. If a person fails to be recognized or has a temperature above a set-point, building access will be denied. Both the biometric and temperature scans are touchless applications which further improves hygiene. Additionally, using Princeton Identity’s patented iris-matching technology, identification is validated while wearing masks and googles.

“Dating back to outbreaks like SARS, MERS, and now COVID-19, there is a pent-up demand for effective detection of potentially infected individuals, typically through the presence of fever, that drove us to expand our touchless solution,” commented Bobby Varma, CEO Princeton Identity. “As people return to work or school across various segments, we see the need to offer a touchless temperature screen to our family of products.”

“The temperature module has been incorporated completely into our Access200 software so users can easily turn-on this new application like any other feature within this product family,” stated Sean Singer, VP Engineering Princeton Identity. Providing this added flexibility in a touchless environment offers customers another layer of protection into their access applications.”
