We have already proved in Europe that Aladin® works very well in B2B, in eldercare facilities. Today we are going to the entire American Assisted Living market and we are Looking for clients and US retailers as well.
2020 has been a trying year, Letting us face new and considerable difficulties because of the sanitary crisis. At the start of 2021, challenges are yet to come. especially for seniors Living in assisted Livings or in nursing homes. for their families and for the caregivers. I wish to greet them and pay tribute to their remarkable work. In 2021 and for many years to come. Domalys will continue to do its utmost to help them and brighten their everyday Lives, in France as in the US.
The American market

The baby boomers are becoming the biggest part of the population nowadays. A lot of countries need to re-adjust their retirement plan to answer the needs of this whole new elder population.
The 2020 census estimates the population now about 73 millions people.
Baby boomers have changed the face of the U.S. population for more than 70 years and continue to do so as more enter their senior years, a demographic shift often re ferred to as a “gray tsunami.”
It makes sense for Domalys to answer and adapt solutions to this phenomenon.
The assisted Living Market
The U.S. assisted living facility market size was valued at USO 79.3 billion in 2019 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.3% from 2020 to 2027. The growing geriatric population and rising incidence of brain injuries are ex pected to drive the growth of the market. The growing prevalence of target diseases and advancements in assisted living facilities (ALFs) are expected to boost market growth over the forecast period.
The rise in the geriatric population is expected to be a major factor driving the market for assisted living facilities over the forecast period. According to the National Insti tute on Aging (NIA), globally, around 8.5% of the population is aged 65 and above. Ac cording to data published by Aging.com, two million housing facilities will beneeded for senior residents for adequate living space by 2040.
Technological developments for assisted living facilities are expected to propel market growth in the country. The development of sophisti cated and easy-to-use devices and services, such as Internet-enabled home monitors, tele medicine, and apps for mobile health, is likely to boost the market for the assisted living facility over the forecast period.

The solution
In order to address the problem of falls in assisted livings and nursing homes, we and some healthcare professionals co-designed a prior automatic lighting device equipped with motion sensors. As it was successful, we decided to go further with the implementation of more features such as fall detection and the monitoring for every resident.
This is how was born Aladin®. Aladin and his genie inside; it’s all about machine learning that communicates with the caregivers (via a professional app – reception of alerts) and with DON and Directors (via a private connection to a dedicated software called Domalys Online).

Aladin has 3 major features:
1) ANTICIPATION: Aladin ® monitors the baseline activity of the resident (mo vements, falls, temperature: there is no camera: it’s all about machine learning). Aladin ® warns the caregivers if something uncharacteristic happens (eg. if the num ber of getting up during the night increases a lot, it might be a sign of declining health…)
2) PREVENTION: if the light is not sufficient enough in the room, Aladin ® lights the way automatically. We’ve proven this can reduce the falls up to 75%.
3) FALL DETECTION: if a fall occurs, Aladin ® detetects and warns the caregivers immediately.
Monitoring activity: Aladin ® is connected to Domalys Online software: it records nighttime acti vity, falls, falls causes, temperature in the room. Aladin lighting functions are also customizable.
