E.C.D. Automotive Design (E.C.D.), the premier specialist in building and restoring classic Land Rovers into bespoke, high-end luxury vehicles, today unveils a sleek custom Defender 110 with a mighty 565 horsepower LS3+ engine commissioned for a retired NFL player.

Named Project Rod, this fully custom D110 is painted in full gloss Santorini black with a Zermatt silver roof and accents. Resting on 20-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, Project Rod is crafted for speed with a powerful 565 horsepower LS3+ engine, smooth custom E.C.D. Dynamic Air Suspension and seamless 6-speed auto transmission. The Tubular A bar winch bumper with Warn winch, 6-point roll cage, and swing-away wheel carrier delineate Project Rod’s off-road capabilities.

“Each client has a vision in mind for the look of the truck and the use of the truck. This one-of-one build showcases the customization we offer down to the horsepower,” said Founder of E.C.D. Tom Humble. “We don’t typically get a chance to build such a powerful engine for a D110, so this build really allowed for the talent of our engineers and technicians to shine through.”

Following the elegant black and silver theme of the exterior, Project Rod has two heated Puma Classic front seats and midrow seats – all wrapped in two-tone, double diamond center Kingfisher bucket and Avion Storm Cloud handstitched leather. The interior’s deluxe custom features include a Startech steering wheel, All American gauge set, and a center console complete with an E.C.D. custom A/C and cup holders wrapped in the same black leather accenting the Puma dash and door cards.

Project Rod’s array of lavish modern touches include an extended infotainment console with 5 USB charging stations for the front and rear, a full JL audio sound system, backup camera, Bluetooth, WiFi and blind-spot assistant.
