Some people are so obsessed with organization that they make a career out of it. People with exceptional clerical skills certainly have a niche of their own. Companies need people who know how to keep notes, store records, and offer administrative support. In this list of careers for people with great clerical skills, you may find the opportunity that makes the most sense for you and your abilities.

Data Entry Specialist

A data entry specialist is an entry-level or junior position that involves entering information and data into a database quickly and accurately. Sometimes, data entry specialists must collect data from customers and put that in the tracking system; other times, they measure internal metrics. Data entry specialists must know how to enter data, make copies, and file papers, all of which are clerical skills.

Administrative Assistant

The position of administrative assistant is another fantastic career for people with great clerical skills, particularly those clerical experts who wish to work in an office. Administrative assistants perform secretarial and support services for specific departments. Their clerical skills include filing, typing, binding, copying, and scanning. People who like to be supportive, polite, and courteous should consider looking into being an administrative assistant.

Beekeeper

Perhaps the most surprising option on this list, beekeepers need excellent clerical skills to complete their work. There is a great deal of record-keeping involved in beekeeping. Beekeepers track the progress of their hives and honey so that they can make decisions about how much food to give them, how much honey to take, and how to prepare for the next season.

Recordkeeper

Of course, no list of careers for people with clerical skills would be complete without recordkeeper. These professionals have the task of gathering files and information from departments or employees to be filed away for safekeeping and easy access. They perform other necessary clerical duties, such as answering telephones, processing mail, typing, and securing confidential materials.
