TIME IS UP, THE MIRACLE DEMANDS PENANCE; BLASPHEMOUS 2 LAUNCHES ON 24TH AUGUST

Team17 Digital and The Game Kitchen have today revealed that punishing Metroidvania Blasphemous 2 will launch on Nintendo Switch™, PC, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S on 24th August 2023. Joining a reawakened Penitent One in an unfamiliar and unforgiving land, Blasphemous 2 follows on from the events of Blasphemous’ 2021 Update Wounds of Eventide, and thrusts players back into the endless cycle of life, death, and resurrection.

Penance awaits later this year:

The Miracle has returned, the birth of a prophetic new miracle child has been foretold, and it once again falls to The Penitent One to explore a strange world, defeat grotesque monstrosities, and give everything to stop the prophecy from coming to pass. Featuring three unique weapons to acquire and master, and an enhanced skillset to choose from, players will have to use these new tools to survive long enough to deliver judgment to all who stand in their way. As they make their way towards the inevitable final confrontation, they’ll pick up pieces of scattered lore, and unpick long forgotten secrets of a new and punishing world as they cheat death time and time again.

Blasphemous 2 Key Features

  • Discover a rich non-linear world: A series of enchantingly grotesque landscapes await, oozing gothic charm and littered with unforgiving traps; there is no wrong turn to take, only scores to settle
  • Unleash savage combat: Brutal executions and expanded combos provide new and devastating ways to rain destruction on the abominations that await
  • Play your way: Blasphemous 2 provides the ability to customise and improve the Penitent Ones’ base skillset, and introduces new unique weapons that expand player tactics
  • Overcome intense boss battles: Twisted bosses with unique attack patterns and sundering abilities await in the darkest corners of this twisted new land
