Time Without Tide Funded in 12 Minutes, Surpasses $175K and Adds Star Wars Writer George Mann

Just over a week after launching on BackerKit, Chaosium’s new tabletop RPG Time Without Tide has surpassed $175,000 from more than 1,300 backers, after reaching its initial $10,000 funding goal in just 12 minutes.

The campaign’s momentum has already unlocked several stretch goals, including an additional adventure from George Mann, whose writing credits include Star Wars, Dark Souls, Doctor Who, and DC Comics.

Mann’s adventure will be added to Into the Fog, a collection of Time Without Tide adventures designed with new players and Keepers in mind.

Other unlocked additions include:

  • Bonus miniatures: All backers will receive STL files for Muesli & Plum and The Dreadful Not-Papa from the Lonely Phareflaw Quickstart adventure. The models will also be added to the physical miniature set at no extra cost.

  • Poster maps: Maps of Saltport and the surrounding region from artist Marc Moureau will be added to physical copies of the Core Rulebook.

  • Expanded Delver backgrounds: Six Delver backgrounds will receive additional lore and mechanics as a digital download.

The next stretch goal, at $200,000, will unlock even more expanded backgrounds for Delvers, with additional goals still ahead as the campaign continues through September 24.

Time Without Tide is a tabletop RPG of exploration and adventure set in a fog-shrouded, faux-Victorian apocalypse. Players become Delvers who venture into the Unknown to fight horrors, discover marvels, and protect the strange survivors of a fallen moon. The game uses an entirely new system built around character-driven roleplaying, creative problem-solving, tactical combat, and character customization.
