PAX Collaborates with Celebrated Artists to Create Special Laser-Engraved Devices for the Holidays
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — PAX Labs, Inc., a technology leader creating premium vaporizers for dry herb and concentrates, today announced a partnership with three San Francisco-based artists to produce limited edition designs for the matte black PAX 3 and PAX Era. Muralist APEXER, designer and illustrator Jayde Fish, and painter and printmaker Casey Gray each created sketches that were laser-engraved onto these devices, available for sale today on pax.com.
Limited edition PAX 3 complete kits cost $269.99, and the device-only package retails for $219.99. The PAX Era can be purchased for $39.99.
“We’re thrilled to offer these beautifully-crafted custom designs just in time for holiday gifting,” said J.J. O’Brien, general manager. “Collaborations with artists, musicians, fashion designers and other creative individuals are one of the ways we look to offer a very unique experience to our customers.”
APEXER, also known as Ricardo Richey, is a street artist who creates colorful abstract patterns through the use of spray paint. He has created many celebrated mural projects throughout U.S. cities, including San Francisco. His diamond-shaped, minimalist design engages the PAX user with imagery intended to inspire organizational creativity and art.
Jayde Fish draws inspiration from fashion, textiles and nature. She is best known for intense attention to detail and intricate line work. Her drawings were recently featured on clothing for Gucci’s SS 2017 runway show after Creative Director Alessandro Michele discovered her work on Instagram.
Jayde’s design, ‘Scrimshaw,’ was inspired by legendary stories carved into whalebones and slabs of ivory by sailors who sent them home to their loved ones. Evoking worldly wonder and an adventurous spirit, her stacked, intricate drawings suggest a sensational journey, leaving the specifics to consumers to decipher.
Casey Gray is a contemporary artist focused primarily on painting with occasional printmaking, illustration and site-specific mural work. He composes his findings into visually complex still life arrangements inspired by personal and universal narratives. His engraving, entitled “Still Life of Flowers,” was influenced by Flemish Baroque still life paintings of flowers from the Dutch Golden Age. It largely mimics his psychedelic floral still life artwork, reduced to its most basic graphic elements and shapes.
