La Petite Mort, a biodegradable skull-shaped lamp that brings out the love.

Laurent Genoud created Wicked Robot on September 1st 2018, he manufactures lamps in the shape of human skulls by 3D printing in his workshop in Switzerland. The business hits the mark thanks to a skull projecting hearts shaped shadows.

Open a few months ago the workshop is in full excitement and for cause its new product, a decorative lamp shaped as a mexican skull “a calavera” makes the buzz on social networks. It’s an allegory of death and passing time that fascinates since the dawn of time.

The lamps are equipped with a LED candle designed in our workshop, and a rechargeable battery by USB port with an autonomy of twelve hours. A remote control allows you to choose between sixteen different colors for the light source. We decided to print our objects in white to play with the structure of the material. Our lamps have cutouts which allows to project very graphic shadows, this calavera skull cast hearts on walls and ceiling.

The product offered by Wicked Robot is made from PLA, a biodegradable polymer based on polylactic acid, derived from corn starch. It’s 100% biodegradable and compostable.

Laurent talks about it:

“The day I got my hands on a 3D printer, my life took a new turn. At first, I could spend hours watching an object take shape, like a kid watching a fire burn or watching a spider weave his web. It’s quite hypnotizing.”

“I chose to print all the objects in white to play with the structure of the material. Most lamps have a shape cut, which allows to project very graphic shadows “, note that calaveras project hearts
