Xooloo Messenger, the free instant messaging app that puts safety of children first, opens to schools.  In light of the recent school closures, children can now chat with their teachers on a safer platform. It enables children to ask questions from home with regards to their studies, ensuring they don’t fall behind or get stuck and receive the assistance when they need when not physically at school.

With Xooloo Messenger, children can stay in touch with their classmates safely during school closures. More fun than traditional messaging apps, Xooloo Messenger puts security first. When a child adds a new contact, parents are immediately informed of their identify through email. The app allows children to communicate with their parents when they are at work or their teachers if they have any questions, even with their grandparents which they can no longer visit. To ensure communication during school closures, it now allows users to create groups and add, for instance, their classmates or pupils.
Teachers can instantly message the entire classroom or contact pupils individually. They can share tasks, homework or information regarding classes – and say goodbye to time-consuming reporting or lost emails. As a safer messaging app dedicated to kids, Xooloo Messenger brings children, families and teachers closer together.

For Gregory Veret, cofounder of Xooloo: “To maintain a link between the pupil and the learning process in the current climate, a flow of communication between children, parents and their teachers is essential. Xooloo Messenger is there to simplify this relationship and make it more dynamic. Children, teachers and parents keep in touch in all circumstances to maintain the learning process”.

Children, teachers and parents who chose Xooloo Messenger were immediately seduced by its simplicity, its friendliness and the time which it allowed them to gain. They are the application’s best ambassadors.

Xooloo Messenger is an instant and safer messaging app for children up to 13 years old. It works on any smartphone or tablet.

How it works
Xooloo Messenger must be installed by the children themselves. They are the only ones who can add friends and communicate with them. Several options are available for children to add a friend: they can use an email address, a cell phone number or an individual code created by Xooloo for each user. This means that children can only be in contact with people they know. Children who do not have a SIM card can also use the app.

Available on iOS and Android, the app is a more fun, more secure and a reassuring means of communication for parents who can finally know who they child speaks to.

A user experience designed entirely for children

All the key features of the service have been designed for kids. For example, they are able to personalize their Xavatar, the character who represents each child within the app. Another innovation is the ability to send playful custard pies or affectionate kisses, in order to encourage curiosity and creativity. Finally, chatbots are on hand to help new users learn about the service.

A tool that keeps the entire family in contact with children
Xooloo Messenger allows children up to 13 years old to create an account which must be approved by their parents. Before starting a conversation, the account must be approved by their parents. Children can then invite their friends and people over 13, who are also able to access the service after verification of their phone number. Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins are welcome to continue communicating with children who are in their family.

Respect for personal data
The service is free of advertising and collects a minimum amount of children’s personal data. The service complies with COPPA (the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) and the very strict European GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
