Goodyear and Voyomotive launch breakthrough tire safety feature
Voyomotive and Goodyear today announced a collaboration to provide first of its kind tire analytics to improve vehicle readiness, operating efficiency and driving safety.
Based on advanced vehicle data provided by Voyomotive’s VOYO controllers and analytics developed by Goodyear, the application continuously monitors a vehicle to detect leaks or impending low tire pressure before the TPMS sensor illuminates. Using a combination of environmental and vehicle data, the application can be used on any brand of tire and most modern vehicles. Results are measured against vehicle placard values for tire pressure with alerts issued so a vehicle owner can inspect, inflate or repair a tire in advance of it going flat. The application also sends high tire temperature alerts with recommendations for vehicle inspection points and suggested adjustments to driving habits. Alerts are sent by SMS, email or included in a fleet management system using the Voyomotive API. Goodyear tire intelligence can also be included in consumer apps for vehicle maintenance and roadside service.
As in the case of the FailSAFE algorithm to predict battery failure, this collaboration with Goodyear demonstrates the capabilities of the Voyomotive platform to develop and support a new class of automotive analytics that include IoT enabled components.
