If your in the market for a new flashlight have you checked out Fenix? We have reviewed a couple of their other lights and were plesantly suprised, and the Fenix PD36R was no different.

The PD36R works great for everyday use, as it is compact enough to be an EDC Product. This flashlight is powered by a 5000 mAh li-ion battery. This battery is rechargable via a USB-C cable that is included in the package. How this flashlight differs from the PDR36 TAC is the fact you can recharge the battery without removing it. There is an external USB-C Charging port with a rubber cover to help prevent water and dust entrusion. The Bulb is an LED Bulb for long life. The body is made from an Aluminum Alloy with an Anodized finish.

There are 5 different light settings as well as the Strobe function. You have 30, 150, 350, 800, and 1600 Lumen settings. In ECO Mode(30 Lumen), the battery will last up to 115 hours, and in Turbo Mode (3000 Lumen), you have 2 Hours 50 Minutes of use. To get the strobe function, you turn on the PD36R, and hold down the function button and the strobe function will be activated. The strobe will stay activated until you hit the function button again. If you turn off the light while the strobe function is on, it will revert to a standard flashlight next time you turn it on.

For ease of carrying, the PD36R has a belt holster that is included in the package, as well as a belt clip on the flashlight itself. This gives you multiple ways of carrying the Flashlight, whether it be on your duty belt, or just in your pocket. You also get a wrist strap for while you are using the light so you don’t drop it.

The PD36R flashlight is also made to be durable for most situations. The Flashlight can withstand drops up to 1 Meter, and can handle being submerged under water up to 2 Meters. It has a IP68 dustproof/waterproof rating. This is a flashlight that can withstand daily use. as well as hiking and camping.

If you are looking for a well built and durable flashlight that is lightweight, the PD36R Flashlight come in at a light 3.0 OZ without the battery. The Flashlight itself is 5.4 Inches from front to back of the push button.

The Fenix PD36R Flashlight sells for $99.95 . Head over to Fenix-Store.com and check out all the great Flashlight options they offer.

While many might think that $100 is too much for a flashlight when you can just run to your local big box store and pick up one for $2.00, remember that this flashlight is not a cheap run of the mill disposable flashlight. It has a rechargeable battery so you don’t have to buy a new battery for the life of the battery, but it is also IP68 Rated so a little water and dust won’t ruin the light.
