Do you hear that? I’m really surprised you don’t, because I am playing my favorite songs on the Motorola Rokr 500 and it sounds awfully good over here! Today I will be going over all of the intelligent features of the newest bluetooth speaker available from Motorola. This little beast is packed with sound, additional features and quality. Continue on to get the full scoop.

Sound

The main thing we all care about when purchasing a bluetooth speaker is the sound quality. When I first received this speaker, I thought to myself there is no way this is going to pump out volume like they claim. Just like my first 3 Wordle guesses this morning, I was very wrong! I played every genre that I have in my playlist on this including Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, Country and even Musicals. Every song I played had a beautiful, crisp and clear sound quality that carried through the entire room we were in. We also took this outside to be poolside and test out listening to our songs while enjoying the water. It was fantastic to say the least. Even our neighbors who were outside as well asked about it. The sound quality was absolutely stellar.

Microphone

This section goes pretty hand in hand with the sound but deserved its own category. The Rokr has a built in microphone to allow you to complete phone calls with the speaker instead of having to grab your phone off the table or where ever it is stored. This is extremely handy when you’re outside grilling, swimming or if you have to complete a conference call with multiple people in a room. All three of these situations were the case for me. The conference call was by far one of the best experiences. The whole room was able to hear the speaker, people were situated all around the table and able to be heard clearly by the caller without having to raise their voice or lean into it. This feature was exceptionally helpful on multiple occasions.

Set Up/Connectivity

Setting this up and getting it connected to my phone was as simple as simple gets. The bluetooth pairing took all of 10 seconds to find and connect. I did this with my phone, and my iPad as well to give us a better listening experience while watching shows. Both paired very simply and allowed for smooth sound quality and connection with a very decent range from the phone and iPad.

Features

Not only is this speaker packed with incredible audio, it can also charge your QI enabled device wirelessly! A super neat feature is the wireless charging capability built into the top of the speaker. This was super convenient and helpful while soaking in the rays at the beach and playing relaxing music for ourselves and our friends around us. Not only can you wirelessly charge, there is a USB-C plug built in that will also allow you to charge another device. Charging this device takes approximately two hours to get a full charge and it will last approximately 15 hours on normal use.

Speaking of taking this by the pool, the Rokr boasts an IPX6 water resistant rating. This stood very true as we happened to splash water onto the speaker and it also sat in the rain for a few moments when a storm surprised us another day. Both times, the speaker never faltered and showed no signs of any water damage.

Overall

If you are in the market for an inexpensive speaker that can surprise you and entertain you and your group of friends, this is the one for you. This speaker has an excellent sound quality and powerful bass for such a small package. The hands free calling is especially helpful for group calls or conferences. The waterproof rating stands true and outperforms when needed. Wireless charging is not only helpful but also speedy with a 10w wireless charge. For the price of $69.99 its honestly a hard speaker to pass up on. Head over to Motorola today and pick yours up!
